The fight for tax justice could define the 21st century. It has the power to transform lives and rebuild an economy that works for everyone — but only if we confront the crisis of inequality that’s dragging down living standards. To win, we need your support.
Taxing wealth is about funding our schools and hospitals, but it’s about more than that. It’s about rewriting the social contract, rebuilding trust, and ending a two‑tier system where ordinary people contribute while mega‑corporations and the ultra‑rich treat tax as optional.
We all know the system is rigged. But it can be un‑rigged. The problem is those protecting private fortunes instead of promoting public thriving, have better lobbyists. That’s why we’re building a People’s Lobby, a movement to take on their machine— rooted in communities across the country, fighting for fairness just as past generations fought for (and won!) the NHS, the 5‑day week and the right to vote.
We don’t have billionaire backers. We rely on charitable trusts and individual supporters. But funding from trusts and foundations is increasingly unstable as their resources are spread thinner and thinner playing whack-a-mole with the impacts of multiplying global crises triggered and exacerbated by our rigged economy. To fight, we need stability. We need resilience. We need you.

Since 2017 we’ve been taking on the super-rich and powerful, their well-resourced lobbyists, and divisive politicians who want nothing more than to uphold the status quo. We’ve spoken out when talking about taxing extreme wealth wasn’t popular, and we have been building a movement from the ground up to keep building momentum toward winning the changes we need to see. Over the years we have achieved some massive victories, but we’re not resting on our laurels.

Why momentum is building
We’ve been winning massive victories in our fight for tax justice since 2017, and with your help, things are speeding up as our power and movement grow. Just recently we’ve managed to stave off the intense lobbying of major tech companies and the US President to stop the government capitulating and scrapping the Digital Services Tax.
Together we have also won major victories that chip away at the power and influence that the super-rich have on our democratic system. You’ve helped us build pressure that has won changes to rules that cap donations from people overseas, a ban on difficult to trade cryptocurrency donations, alongside requirements that should put an end to donors hiding behind complex corporate structures.
In recent years we’ve also won major reforms that have increased taxes on polluting private jets, increased capital gains tax rates, abolished the non-dom status and increased the rate of tax that corporations pay in the UK.
We have a track record of winning, and we’ve got our sights on big things that transform our tax system and economy to work in all of our interests.
