Write to your Welsh Assembly (Senedd Cymru) Candidates
A step-by-step guide
-
1. Find your council candidates contact info
First, look up the candidates standing in your Welsh constituency, on Who Can I Vote For? — just enter your postcode to see everyone running. Click each candidate’s profile and scroll down to find their name and contact details (email or postal address, whichever you prefer). Then return to this page to quickly generate a personalised letter to send them.
You’re welcome to contact every candidate in your ward, but you may prefer to be strategic and focus on those most likely to win or those you’re genuinely considering voting for. We have already scored each party on how closely their manifesto maps to our tax justice priorities, but engaging individual politicians is really important as they can be drivers of progressive change within their parties, and the senedd.

Dear ,
I am writing as a resident of
.One of my key concerns is the future of
,
and sustainably funding our public services through fair and progressive tax reforms on wealth.
[SELECT MOST RELEVANT BLOCK TO CUSTOMISE]
It is especially frustrating to see
’s decline because the UK remains one of the richest countries in the world.
And the hardworking people in our community and our country have made a select few astonishingly rich.
There are 156 billionaires in the UK, and just the ten richest of them hold over £176 billion between them — roughly the same as the entire collective spending of every local authority council in the UK.
There are more than five billionaires in Wales, and tens of thousands of millionaires, and yet one in five people in Wales lives in poverty.
We have great wealth — it is simply not being fairly shared or fairly taxed.
I believe it is right that those who can afford to contribute more should do so, to ensure that both our country and
can function and flourish.Wales: Tax Justice UK has a
full suite of policies
that could bring in much‑needed revenue to fund our public services and promote a fairer and more equal Wales.
A fair tax on wealth,
as advocated by Tax Justice UK,
is a way many organisations argue we could reinvest in public services at a time when ordinary people have faced stagnant wages, rising costs, and years of damaging austerity.
If you are elected in May, will you use your position as a parliamentarian to advocate for better funding for public services paid for through fairer taxation of extreme wealth?
Although not within the remit of the Senedd, you can make the case for this with your platform.
In addition, council tax reform — such as the proposals
put forward by Fairer Share — could unlock the funds needed to protect
’s services without pushing the burden onto already squeezed households.
The Welsh Government has the power to reform council tax and business rates.
These should be replaced with proportional property taxes that make the most of our devolved powers.
Will you advocate for this approach if elected?
I would be grateful to hear your position on these issues, and to understand how you plan to stand up for residents who want strong local services but cannot absorb further costs, and who want to see a fairer, more equitable tax system for Wales.
Yours sincerely,
