Tax Justice UK comment ahead of the government’s comprehensive spending review.
Aleema Shivji, interim Executive Director at Tax Justice UK said:
“What will it take for the Government to make the courageous choice and tax the wealth of the super-rich, to improve lives and revitalise the country? Tens of billions of pounds could be raised from increasing taxes on the super-rich. This money could improve healthcare, deliver better education for children and halt cuts to social security. With the choice between another round of austerity at the spending review or taxing wealth more to benefit everyone – I know which side of the line I stand.”
